Jerome R. Corsi, a Harvard Ph.D., and World Net Daily (WND) senior staff reporter wrote July 7th about the retail giant Costco issuing an order to remove all copies of Dinesh D’Souza’s bestselling book, “America: Imagine the World Without Her.” That set off a firestorm across the nation with calls and emails flooding the inbox of CEO and President W. Craig Jelinek as well as CFO and Executive Vice President Richard A. Galanti.
By July 10th the issue could no longer be ignored and Costco CEO sent out a press release and reply to those who complained via email, stating the removal of Dinesh D’Souza’s book from its shelves was all a big misunderstanding. According to Jelinek’s letter, he claims it was strictly a business decision, as Costco is not a book store and has very limited shelf space for books. The book had sold about 15 copies per store on averaged and the call to pull it had zero to do with politics. Could this be? Possibly?
Unfortunately, whether or not his letter is heartfelt and true, it is the battlefield upon which we find ourselves on. The left, liberals, progressives, the Democrat Party, environmentalists, global warming alarmists, America history revisionists, Hollywood, the national media, academia, professors, politicians, occupy wall street, anarchists, anti-American groups, radicals of every stripe have all caused this and issues like it to be reported upon as a plea for action, because that is how they operate, that is how they conduct themselves and treat traditional views in the press and public arena. The news media skewers conservatives and Christians or ignores them — which ever best suites their narrative. On the other hand the small cabals and clans of the left are paraded as headline news for their victories in toppling the cornerstones of liberty unique to America.
Traditional Americans, hard working Americans, parents and grand-parents, those with a strong faith in God, family and a patriotic zeal for our forefathers, Founding fathers and the Constitution they gave us — as well as the veterans who shed limbs and lives to secure it, are daily under attack by forces that wish all that good was shoved into a closet. All the while they force upon an embarrassed citizenry all the shameful things that belong in the closet and parade them and display them as if they were decent and equal or honorable.
Leftist thinking allows for the use of political correctness as a stinging whip and a brutal club. They use the reach of the media as a tool of shame and character assassination and they use political and police force as a weapon of intimidation — not for good — but to silence those who are patriotic and love their country.
What is going on in America is sinister. It began long before President Obama reach his pinnacle of power — but he is its face and he is its leader, and in a way he is its current mastermind. When the media crucified Brendan Eich, CEO of Mozilla (Firefox browser fame) for supporting Prop 8 in favor of traditional marriage — we clearly saw their tactics of intolerance and hatred. We saw how they will brutally beat someone in broad daylight for simply holding different views, different values. That leaves us no other recourse than to assume freedom and free expression is under attack when a patriot like Dinesh D’Souza is arrested for campaign donation violations and his book is pulled the day before the movie is released nationwide by a corporation whose leadership leans far left.
We know our nation is under a cloud of darkness when bus loads of illegals are transported from the southern border to places as far away as Washington state and Massachusetts while our Veterans Memorials are being closed due to budget constraints — yes, something sinister IS going on. Our government officials welcome and treat “illegals” as if they are our honored guests, while we inflict pain upon veterans by refusing to allow them to visit the memorials built in their honor!
It looks like Americans are waking up — the protests in defense of virtue and the Constitution are on the rise and I/we aren’t going to let our America be denigrated or assaulted without a fight! So if you aren’t up for a fight — step aside — you’re only going to be in the way!
If you are so inclined you should email the executives at Costco and thank them for their decision to do the right thing. And gently let them know — we will be watching their future decisions in this regard. For we are vigilant, patient and patriotic!
